Process of technical textiles

The processing of technical textiles is our expertise, SKM has been a specialist in heavy fabric confection for several decades.
In doing so, our regularly trained employees have a wide range of options for processing textiles and tarpaulins.

CAD cutting

According to the product requirements, an exact digital cutting of the technical textiles is carried out with the automated cutter technology: products can be manufactured extremely precisely and in conformity with the quality. With our multifunctional program, we are able to implement the most diverse requirements of cutting techniques.

A cutting area of up to 3m x 3m and 2.70m x 3m allows even the largest constructions to be implemented clearly and precisely. The various cutting techniques with drawing or rolling knives, as well as with an oscillating knife, allow fabrics, coated fabrics, leather, PVC and Kevlar to be processed.

High frequency welding

SKM also uses high-frequency welding to join coated materials: PVC fabrics can be welded quickly and efficiently in this way. Since the heat is generated in the material and the shaping welding electrodes are cold, rapid cooling under pressure is possible. This technique offers the following advantages:

  • suitable for very thick materials
  • very high seam strength (60-70%)
  • best seam quality due to ideal temperature
    cooling under pressure
  • three-dimensional welding possible
  • low energy consumption
  • tightness of the connection

Hot-wedge welding

In our plants, we also use the efficient hot-wedge welding technology: In addition to long areas, it can be used to precisely produce complicated curves and shapes in particular.

Together with high-frequency welding technology, SKM offers customers a wide variety of welding techniques for technical textiles.

In unseren Werken verwenden wir zusätzlich die effiziente Heizkeiltechnik: Neben langen Bahnen können bietet sie vor allem den Vorteil komplizierte Rundungen und Formen präzise anzufertigen.

Textile sewing technology

When processing textiles and tarpaulins, we use a wide variety of manufacturing processes in textile sewing processing. From simple fine sewing machines to binding machines and overlock machines to industrial machines, we have a large machine park and are guided by the requirements for the respective product. There are hardly any limits to our choice of materials:

We process differently coated materials and fabrics, and we are also familiar with additional finishes such as punching and sneezing. Our end products are, for example, bags, covers, masks and special designs in a wide variety of areas.
